The Law Offices of Gallagher, Reedy & Jones is a small, family-oriented Los Gatos law firm with an over forty year tradition, providing a broad range of personal and business legal representation. The areas of practice include corporate and business law, business litigation, real estate, family law, personal injury, estate planning, including wills and trusts, and taxation. Our fundamental goal is to provide ethical, cost-effective legal representation by way of a concerned, personalized attorney-client relationship which focuses on problem resolution as our primary objective.

Michael Jay Jones

Admitted to the practice of law in California in 1974, Randall D. Reedy has spent the last 30 years as one of the founding partners of The Law Offices of Gallagher & Reedy (Gallagher, Reedy & Jones since 1987), practicing in the areas of business and real estate. Mr. Reedy has had extensive experience in the areas of business contracts and entity formation, including incorporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, business acquisitions and commercial leasing. Mr. Reedy was named “Best Lawyer” in Los Gatos in polling done by the Los Gatos Weekly Times for the years 1991, 1996 and 1999.

Rebecca Sue Jones obtained her Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1987, graduating cum laude. Ms. Jones maintains a general practice emphasizing estate planning, wills and trusts, family law, business transactions, unlawful detainer and general litigation. She is a volunteer for the Santa Clara County Pro Bono Project and SALA. Ms. Jones served three years as President of the Santa Clara University Law Alumni Board. In 1998, Ms. Jones was also named “Best Attorney” in Los Gatos by the Los Gatos Weekly Times. In addition to her practice, Ms. Jones has taught first year Legal Analysis, Research and Writing and Upper Division Legal Writing at Santa Clara University School of Law since 1987. In 2023, Rebecca was awarded the Santa Clara Law Alumni Special Achievement Award for her continued commitment and exemplary leadership in serving Santa Clara Law and the legal profession.

Mr. Bays received his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1973 and his J.D. from Santa Clara University in 1976. He was admitted to the practice of law in Michigan in 1976 and California in 1978. Since 1978, he has practiced in Los Gatos, first with the firm of Dunnett, Bays and O’Connell and since 1988, affiliated with Gallagher, Reedy & Jones in Los Gatos. Mr. Bays’ areas of practice consist of estate planning including wills, living trusts, charitable lead and remainder trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, and special needs trusts. Additionally, Mr. Bays practices in the areas of general business including business contracts, entity formation, including family limited partnerships and work concerning tax controversies including audits, collection matters, installment agreements, innocent spouse applications and offers in compromise, as well as tax litigation. Mr. Bays is licensed to practice before the United States Tax Court.

Lauren E. Jones followed in her father, Michael Jay Jones', and aunt, Rebecca Sue Jones', footsteps in receiving her Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2013. Ms. Jones has worked in various administrative capacities at Gallagher, Reedy and Jones since 2002. She maintains a general practice emphasizing estate planning, real estate, mechanic's liens, unlawful detainer, business formation and transactions, family law, personal injury, and general civil litigation. She is active in both the Santa Clara County Bar Association and the West Valley Bar Association.

John Scardamaglia has been practicing law since 2010 and maintains a practice in family law and wills and trusts. John received his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State University. Prior to attending law school, John was a Paramedic for 11 years in Santa Clara, Monterey and San Mateo Counties. Before joining Gallagher, Reedy & Jones in 2016, John was a Staff Attorney at the Northern California Innocence Project and founded his own family law practice. John also volunteers his time with the Record Clearance Project at San Jose State University and he is active in both local and state bar associations.

Saba Shakoori is an attorney at GRJ Law, where she focuses her practice on estate planning, trust administration, and probate matters. Michael Jay Jones was a deeply respected attorney who practiced law with integrity, skill, and compassion. Over the course of his distinguished career, Michael Jay Jones maintained a broad general practice with a focus on real estate, construction and mechanics’ lien matters, commercial and business litigation, personal injury, wills and trusts, and family law. He was known not only for his legal acumen but also for his tireless dedication to his clients and the community.
Beyond his work in the courtroom, Michael Jay Jones shared his knowledge generously. He taught legal writing at Santa Clara University School of Law and in the paralegal program at De Anza College, mentoring countless students and young professionals. For more than two decades, he also served as a private arbitrator and mediator, and as a panelist for the Santa Clara County Bar Association Fee Arbitration Program. He was especially sought after for mediating complex commercial, real estate, and family law disputes.
Michael’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched as an advocate, teacher, colleague, mentor, and friend. He is remembered with deep admiration and gratitude.
